Regarding Pharmacy FOW

Dear Freshmen,

The Media Resource Team has received many queries by email regarding FOW. Hopefully this post will help to clear up any confusion that you might have :)

1. The entire programme of Pharmacy FOW is compulsory for ALL Pharmacy freshmen!
As such, there is no need to “sign up”, which explains why registration is free :)
You also need not worry about being too late to register, or that there may be no more vacancies. We would like all our freshmen to join us for the programme for their grand induction into the Pharmily!

2. Pharmacy FOW is held separately from Science FOW, although the camps occur on the same days.
Science FOW is open to all Science students, and that includes Pharmacy students. However, note that Pharmacy’s FOW is strictly for Pharmacy students.

If you have accidentally signed up for the Science FOW, please do withdraw from it as the Pharmacy FOW is compulsory, as mentioned earlier. We have many department talks and activities that are crucial for you to understand what your future student life in Pharmacy entails, and these will not be covered in the Science FOW.

2. In case you’re wondering what you’re supposed to do to “register” for Pharmacy FOW,
This is all that you need to do, and in this order:

(1) Submit your personal particulars online by filling up this Google Spreadsheet.
Please fill it up before Monday 26 July [Matriculation Fair]
All particulars will be kept private and confidential.

(2) Download, print out, and complete this indemnity form.
Please submit it to us at the Pharmacy Booth on Monday 26 July [Matriculation Fair] when you visit us to collect your Matriculation Package from us.

(3) Don’t forget to bring $30 in order to collect your Matriculation Package!

(4) Pack List for FOW is here.

If you have further queries, do email us. Thanks!

Site News for the month of June

Hi all.

For a quick look at all posts made in the month of June, do view the archives for the month!.

This month, new categories have been created for our site’s posts. New posts made from now on will be made under the corresponding categories. We hope that this will make it easier to track posts for each of NUSPS’s subcommittees, as well as events such as Freshmen Orientation, and Pharmacy RAG & FLAG!

The website now links to the Facebook page and blog (respectively) for Freshmen Orientation and RAG. The links can be found on the sidebar, below that of our NUS Pharmily page. Do visit these pages for more information regarding the recently concluded Freshmen Camp and upcoming Freshmen Orientation Week, as well as how you can (and you probably should!) be involved in our efforts for RAG 2010!

We hope you enjoy these new changes to the site. If you have any suggestions on how the site can be improved so the Media Resource Team can serve you better, do drop us an email or tagboard message!

Volunteers for ACCP

Dear students,

On July 9th to July 12th, Singapore will be holding its very first international Clinical Pharmacy meeting, ACCP.

It is a mega event involving over 1000 pharmacy delegates from more than 10 different countries.

We are urgently seeking for student volunteers for our events on July 9th and July 11th. If you and your classmates are interested to help out, please contact Nisa directly. For those who have previously signed up through NUSPS, you do not need to sign up again, unless you did not previously sign up on those days.

For you, as a student, this is going to be an eye opening opportunity. We will get to meet with many pharmacists in the field, both in Singapore and internationally.

Look forward to your support.

Warmest Regards,
Dr.Chan
